Trips and Visits
These are a special aspect of children’s learning which brings the vibrant curriculum to life and creates memories that last a life-time. Whenever it is possible children will learn ‘in the field’ e.g. visiting a farm, the cathedral or local castle and museum. This helps bring our learning to life.
Visits that took place over the last 12 months include Science at South Wilts Grammar School, sports fixtures at many local schools, Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury Playhouse, Old Sarum Airfield and a visit to Riverbourne Community Farm.
We have an Education Visits Leader in school that helps to promote the success of learning outside the classroom. We deliver high quality, exciting and safe experiences for our pupils and this can be achieved through adventurous, educational and residential trips and visits throughout the year. Our consistent and rigorous planning of trips and visits ensures that our duty of care and safeguarding responsibilities to all staff and pupils are at the highest standard at all times.
The Education Visit Leader aids Teachers to support, enrich and extend teaching outside the classroom and enables the opportunities to provide a broad and balanced approach to children's development and understanding.
