Year 6 reading their interactive picture books to EYFS
Last week, children in Year 6 worked in pairs to create picture books aimed at younger children. They did lots of research, looking at published and already popular books for inspiration. Their stories all contained a moral and were written as bed time stories.
The feedback from EYFS children was fantastic and they loved the characters and stories Year 6 had created.
Year 6 are now looking into writing sequels, watch this space...
Author visit C.S. Clifford June 2019
Last week, author C.S. Clifford visited Old Sarum Primary School. He gave an inspirational whole-school talk about life as an author and how he came to write books.
He delivered workshops to Year 3,4,5 and 6 where he encouraged the children to write creatively and using their imagination to engage the reader.

A huge congratulations to everyone who got involved - it was a great success and we raised a grand total of...
The money raised will go towards author visits on our World Book Day which will take place on Wednesday 13th March.
Then the rest of the money will be spent on brand new library books. Each class will get a budget and the children will choose which books they want to buy for their library.
All children who entered were presented with certificates in assembly. One child per class was chosen as the 'most enthusiastic reader' during the Readathon and awarded a book prize.
